Nocking Point Review

Nocking Point offers a wine subscription service. The wines are exclusive at the business and they are made across the US. A quarterly wine club and a monthly wine club are available for wine lovers. The quarterly wine club comes with 3 bottles of exclusive wine together with a bag of coffee.

Nocking Point – how it works

Founded in 2012, Nocking Point offers affordable wines which are available through subscription. Based in Walla Walla Valley, the subscription service offers two main packages which can be delivered quarterly or every month. The packages usually include three bottles of wine. But not all wines are actually recommended by a specialist. However, at least one of the three wines is endorsed by a celebrity tastemaker. So how much do customers pay for the subscription service? The quarterly box starts at $99 per shipment while. Shipping taxes are not applied.

Each box of wines is then dispatched between 2 and 5 days. The good news is that all US deliveries are free. FedEx and UPS are responsible with most parcels. Wine lovers also need to ensure their state is among the 35 covered by the free shipping policy before placing an order.

A large selection of wines is available for the customers. This includes the 2014 NP Origins Pinot Noir as well as the refreshing 2016 Nerd HQ Rose. All wines were made in limited batches and they come with original artwork in the form of custom labels.

What customers say about Nocking Point

Of course, the wine subscription service is not entirely new in its business model. It is also why it has a few common issues to deal with from the perspective of the customers. Nocking Point acts like a winery which makes its own wines in collaboration with celebrities and wine enthusiasts. However, this is not taken to its full potential. There needs to be more information about the wines and their flavour profiles to make them more unique.

Personalized subscription boxes can be improved as well. Customers should be able to choose a white, a red and a rose in the same wine box. Gift cards could also be well received as they are used by multiple rival companies. Other customers have complained about the two minimum orders policy. While not all bad in its form, this policy also comes with a $40 cancellation fee for the subscription. However, as a new service with a unique identity, Nocking Point also has plenty of credibility among wine lovers.

Conclusion

Combining wine with coffee and a trendy T-shirt might not be the way experienced wine enthusiasts would choose. But Nocking Point proved that this model can work and there are a few areas in which it can shine. For example, a box of wines and coffee can be a great gift idea but more needs to be done on the gift card side. Staying informed about the subscription service is also a top priority for all customers. It is here that Nocking Point finds a good balance of information which gets sent to the customer. This includes emails about upcoming shipments and their scheduled delivery.
