Tasting Room Review

Tasting Room is a wine subscription service which aims to provide a tailored experience for wine lovers. The wines come from USA, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia, Portugal, France, Germany, and Italy. But Tasting Room wines are not sold in stores. The wine is bought in bulk, bottled and labelled by Tasting Room. For some wine lovers, this can be an issue. For others, this approach offers impressive affordability.

Tasting Room – how it works

The wine subscription service offers sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, and many other options. Each wine has its own description which makes the taste easier to understand for new wine lovers. For example, the 2016 Colline Sacrée Vin de Pays d'Oc Viognier comes with a strong fruity aroma which reminds of peaches and apricot.

The Tasting Room wine club comes with a selection of 12 such wines. These wines cost $149 plus $20 for shipping. The entire subscription process can be fully controlled online. Unlike other services, Tasting Room offers the ability to place and control an order online. At the same time, cancellation is also possible online, which is not always the case with most other wine subscription services.

The wines themselves can be seen as affordable. They cost between $20 and $30. However, some of the most expensive options might not be worth it from a quality perspective. Furthermore, it is important to consider the wines on offer when it comes to sampling. A wine sample kit can be sent by Tasting Room. However, the kit has strong taste profiles to make clear distinctions between types of wines and it is not really representative of real wines.
What customers say about Tasting Room

There are a few issues to consider with Tasting Room Wines. It seems that there is still plenty of confusion when it comes to the bottles of wine to be expected with the first order for some customers. Other customers were unhappy with the wine quality. This can be true for seasoned wine lovers who would expect something a bit different, especially for the higher prices.
When it comes to return policies, they are agreed by Tasting Room. However, the return shipping fees have to be paid by the customer. Some customers also noted that restocking fees can apply as well. But the process is improving at the Tasting Room. For example, one of the issues customers had was with the cancellation process, which was not integrated into the online platform. This is not the case anymore as customers can cancel their orders with a click of a button. However, the order can only be cancelled before being handed over to the courier.

Conclusion

Tasting Room offers unique wines from across the world at affordable rates. Part of this affordability is based on the fact that the wine is bottled and labelled in-house. It is not the most affordable wine subscription service but it can certainly be one of the options to consider when learning more about wine and where customer feedback can lead to better tasting wines.
